San Pedro Cactus Powder: Whole-Stem Value in Bulk Sizes

Our San Pedro Cactus Powder is whole-stem Echinopsis pachanoi (also known as Trichocereus pachanoi and by its traditional Quechua name, Huachuma), from cultivated plants in Peru. We simply dry the complete stem and mill it into a fine powder, so nothing is added and nothing is taken away. As a result, you get honest, minimally processed San Pedro at the best price per kilo in our store.

This is our standard San Pedro cactus powder, made for collectors and institutions who need larger amounts. In addition, we seal every batch in a resealable moisture-proof pouch with a lot number. You can choose from 1 kg up to 5 kg, and every order over $300 also ships free with tracking.

What Is San Pedro Cactus?

San Pedro is a fast-growing columnar cactus native to the Andes of Peru and Ecuador, where it grows at roughly 2,000 to 3,000 meters above sea level. Its botanical name is Echinopsis pachanoi, while many collectors still use the older name Trichocereus pachanoi. In addition, you can easily recognize it by its deep green skin, rounded ribs and short spines. You can read more about the species on Wikipedia.

Why Choose Our San Pedro Cactus Powder?

  • Great value: because we sell it in bulk sizes, you pay less per kilo than for small packs.
  • Complete-plant material: we grind the whole stem, so your sample represents the entire plant.
  • Nothing added: there are no fillers, additives, colorants or extraction steps.
  • Consistent milling: we also grind to an even particle size, so it is easy to weigh and store.

How We Make Our San Pedro Cactus Powder

  1. CultivationFirst, our partners grow San Pedro on farms in Peru, so we never take plants from the wild.
  2. HarvestNext, they cut mature, healthy stems at full size.
  3. DryingThen we dry the whole stems slowly to protect their natural color.
  4. MillingAfter drying, we mill the complete stem into a fine, even powder.
  5. InspectionWe also check every batch for texture, moisture, mold and foreign material.
  6. SealingFinally, we pack it in resealable moisture-proof pouches with a lot number.

What Quality San Pedro Powder Looks Like

  • Color: natural green to olive or pale greenish-tan. Still, the shade varies a little between batches, which is normal.
  • Texture: fine and even, so there is no coarse grit or hard lumps.
  • Aroma: clean, mild and earthy, but never musty, sour or chemical.
  • Purity: 100% San Pedro cactus, so there are no fillers or other plants.

Uses for San Pedro Cactus Powder

  • Botanical collections: a key Andean species that collectors often keep alongside Peruvian torch cactus.
  • Education and study: an affordable reference sample, especially for classes that need larger amounts.
  • Natural dye and craft: its green tones also make it popular with makers who use natural plant materials.
  • Archives and reference collections: sealed, lot-numbered pouches suit long-term storage, too.

Which Size Should I Choose?

The 1 kg pouch is a great starting size, and it also qualifies for free shipping. Meanwhile, the 2 kg and 3 kg sizes suit larger collections, while 4 kg and 5 kg give the lowest price per kilo. If you only need a smaller, more refined sample, however, our premium powder starts at 500 g. For 10 kg or more, you can also request a wholesale quote.

Free shipping over $300. Every order also ships with tracking in discreet packaging, so you always know where it is. See our delivery times.

How to Store San Pedro Cactus Powder

  • First, keep it in the resealable pouch or an airtight glass jar.
  • Then store it somewhere cool, dry and dark, ideally below 20°C (68°F).
  • Close the pouch tightly after each use, because powder absorbs moisture quickly.
  • Finally, wear a dust mask and gloves when you handle large amounts of any fine powder.

When you store it this way, your San Pedro cactus powder keeps its color and texture for 12 to 18 months.

It is the whole stem of the San Pedro cactus (Echinopsis pachanoi), dried and finely milled. We sell it as a botanical specimen only.

What is the difference between standard and premium?

This standard powder uses the whole stem and comes in bulk sizes. In contrast, our premium powder has the core and spines removed, so it is cleaner and extra-fine.
